Supporting Categories, Duration and Instruction Language

  1. Supporting Category. This scholarships support (may differ in different provinces) language students, exchange students, general scholars, undergraduate, masters and PhD students.

  1. Duration. These scholarships generally support undergraduate students for 4-5 years, master’s students for no more than 3 academic years or doctoral students for no more than 4 academic years. Scholarships for short term study and exchange students are generally required to get pre-approval of their study before applying for the scholarship. In some cases, the scholarships cover both major study and Chinese language/preparatory study, as specified in the Admission Letter.   1. Instruction Language

  1. Scholarship Coverage

 

Chinese Government Scholarship-Chinese University Program provides both full scholarships and partial scholarships.

  1. Full Scholarship covers
  • Tuition waiver: Tuition funds will be comprehensively used by the host university. It may cover scholarship students’ education, administration costs and expenditures to support student activities.
  • Accommodation: free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy.

Stipend:

  • Undergraduate students: up to CNY 2,500 per month;
  • Master’s students/general scholars: up to CNY 3,000 per month;
  • Doctoral students/senior scholars: up to CNY 3,500 per month.

  1. Partial Scholarship covers
  • Tuition waiver: Tuition funds will be comprehensively used by the host university. It may cover scholarship students’ education, administration costs and expenditures to support student activities.

Eligibility 

  1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health
  2. The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:

be a high school graduate and no more than 25 when applying for the undergraduate programs;

be a bachelor’s degree holder and no more than 35 when applying for the master’s programs;

be a master’s degree holder and no more than 40 when applying for the doctoral programs.
